a sign

The lightening of the rains in the wake of typhoon yon left me wondering was this some sort of weird phenomena that as the storm got closer would it be calmer then it would get worse? My ignorance over these hurricane matters was quite apparent. I was planning to be stuck inside on the Monday holiday with TV and typhoon yon, but a glimmer of hope surface. I thought it would be such a shame to have not done a little day trip outside of Tokyo. So I went to bed with the decision – if it was sunny I would go out. Sure enough – the sun peeked through.

I turned on the TV and the same swirly maps were there on the news, but the typhoon had turned towards the Pacific instead and missed Tokyo completely. Other parts of Japan were not as lucky, such as Osaka.

But, looks like my plane will leave the airport without having to deal with 60 mile per hour winds.
